Salisbury-born Perry Harris trained in Graphic Design & Illustration at Salisbury College of Art during the 1970s. It was during his studies that he co-founded the punk fanzine VAGUE, to which he continues to contribute. His artistic journey then took a turn towards painting, prompting a move to Bath in the 1980s to study Fine Art.
Throughout his career, Perry has worked in diverse fields, including stage scenery painting, architectural illustration, and freelance illustration. For nearly 30 years, he also served as a school caretaker, which complemented his creative pursuits.
Perry’s early drawings of Bath found a perfect outlet with the advent of social media, enabling him to share his work and contribute to local businesses and events, such as The Forest of Imagination.
In recent years, Perry has rediscovered his passion for painting, focusing on watercolours of the stunning landscape around Bath. This exhibition brings together different facets of his work: the Bath cartoons, influenced by underground comics and his architectural illustration background, and his watercolours, inspired by his love of nature and a return to his artistic roots.
